VivoPower’s Strategic Push with Tembo Tuskers in Electric Vehicle Market
VivoPower International PLC, through its subsidiary Tembo E-LV B.V., has made significant headway in the electric vehicle sector by securing a substantial order for 200 Tembo Tuskers. These electric utility vehicles are destined for the markets of Australia and New Zealand with a delivery timeline set for February 2026. The announcement follows a strong performance in Australian pick-up truck sales, which totaled approximately US$700 million in May 2024, underscoring a growing market interest in electric vehicles.
The Tembo Tusker is designed to cater to both left and right-hand drive markets and offers configurations suitable for varied needs including single and dual cab options. Notably, the vehicle boasts a range of 330 kilometers, a payload capacity of one ton, and a towing capacity of 750 kilograms. It also comes at a competitive price, being 15% cheaper than similar electric utility vehicles in its launch markets.
Following enthusiastic reception at a major Australian mining trade show, Tembo is accelerating its plans to introduce the Tuskers into additional markets globally. This expansion aligns with VivoPower’s broader strategy to offer comprehensive sustainable energy solutions, aiming to electrify B2B fleets and drive toward decarbonization and net-zero carbon objectives. This move is likely to influence VivoPower’s market position positively, offering investors potential growth as the demand for sustainable and electric utility vehicles continues to rise.
